For February's Bead Journal Project I have embroidered a Common Heath (Epacris impressa). It has a profusion of trumpet like flowers all along the stems, often tipped with white. There are several colourways of this plant but the pink is the emblem of my home state of Victoria.

  1. Very well done, Marj. I very much like the bead movement overall, as well as the framing. Can you tell us the size of the piece?
Is the Heath blooming at your place now? At my end of the world, Germany, it does in late summer, like August/September.

    1. Thanks Sabine, it is 9.5 x 6.5 cm (about the size of a playing card). My Heath is all shrivelled up at the moment because we've had such a hot summer, but I will trim it back and it will come good over the winter. We are just about to go into Autumn. Heath usually flowers most of the year here with the best display in Autumn/Winter - about June-July.

  3. SO nice, and I love the texture. This makes me want to do something floral.
